Karl took to Triathlons in the ‘08/’09 season as a means of achieving a higher level of fitness for his motor racing career – having jumped in with a competitive mindset, he managed to finish runner up in both the Western Australian and Tasmanian State Sprint Distance Championships for his age-group.

Along with this, he qualified for the World Championship team to compete on the Gold Coast in September ’09; unfortunately this date clashed with the Phillip Island 500 V8 Supercar race in which Karl teamed up with Jason Bright.

So far in the ‘09/’10 season, Karl has won the West Australian State Aquathlon Championship as well as the State Olympic Distance Triathlon Championship and will continue to compete along with his 2010 V8 Supercar commitments.
